Game Review 1 (written by Axelfoaly) Added on: 03/12/2008
I have just downloaded and played Football Masters 98. I have been a football fan for 5 years. I have played mostly every single game related to football since. What I look for in a game is decent graphics, good movement, good controls, good statistic tables, a good sound quality, and a game that takes a fair amount of time to complete. Football Masters 98 covers all of this.
My favourite part of these football games, is that I can view all of the records, and Football Masters 98 is excellent at that.
You can play all the games you want, and your records are saved every time for a fast and easy viewing. This is excellent for those gamers that want to know how they are doing. You can get information how well you played the very first time you played, and every game since. This is perfect for those gamers out there that like to keep getting better and better. The statistics really provide a good sense of how well you are doing. I believe this is my favourite part of the game.
Because the game is a bit old, it is obvious the graphics are not that great. It is not to say that the graphics are not good, it is just they can be better. But the graphics are not annoying. You have to understand this is a retro game. A retro classic football game. So given the time that it was created, the graphics on this game is pretty decent. Good brightness and contrasts level. The thing that bothers some gamers is the distribution of hues, and the saturation levels. But again, overall the graphics on this game are good.
As for the feel of the game, it is great. It gives you an experience unlike other football games from that time. With excellent team management, and good movement, you really feel like you are there playing the game.
I give this game 8 out of 10. It becomes really addicting, and even if you don't like football so much, you should still definitely try it out.

Game Review 2 (written by Dark_goddes) Added on: 06/01/2007
Its pretty cool because you can view older match details at any time, and can choose your own view of each characters performance. It also records the other teams results to allow the score tables to automatically update! And you can check the tables at any time, everything is saved and recorded for score.
Its a really interactive game that allows you to control and then view all aspects of the game. Some people think that the game lacks depth and playability, and that the game is a waste of time and space, but if you want to play and record all results, and enjoy your control for this classic game, football masters is good for you. Its especially enjoyable for those who've played the game growing up and see it available for download and play now, how cool is that?
If you want REAL football management, (or as close as you can get), this is your game. Watch actual match action while playing and selecting from a HUGE availability of players. This game is just so limitless for the football fan, with you in control!

This was a pretty cool game for football fans. For people who are wanting to play a game that is a little older with graphics that aren't as good as the new game systems then you should definately play this game. Every once in a while you just want play a good old classic football game.

A great old game to have a blast on, whilst not exactly the best ever, it’s one of those retro type games you still play
