Game Review 1 (written by Magwe) Added on: 04/22/2009
When I found this game, I was looking for a regular old racing game. This game exceeded my expectations by turning out to be a game with some thinking and a lot of great content. This content is actually the way you plot out the races and the tracks that the drivers will race in and the parts that go in the cars. The part that I find amazing is the limitless amounts of tuning up that you can do with your car.
Fine tuning the car's various parts takes a lot of time and effort but is not required to beat all of the tournaments (but it may help). This game also features many different Formula One race car drivers which give a more official feeling.

This game features a high difficulty level. Many of the choices that you make in the game are meant for real managers after all and not for people playing simulations in front of the computer. However, there is a help window that gives the game a lot more playability. The difficulty does not mean that the game is unplayable; it just means the game requires a lot of thought and time to beat all the tournaments without the help windows.

game does have some flaws although they are not major problems such as bugs in the game or anything else that affects the game play. It does have a problem that frustrated me a lot for the whole time that I was playing. The screen with the races has a fixed top-down view that shows the whole track and the camera cannot be moved no matter how you try and there are no other viewpoints such as view from the inside of the car onto the track. This makes it quite hard to see the cars and more importantly, it is hard to tell which car is which. Perhaps the game could be improved by adding a way to actually race the cars yourself from the inside of the car, but that would be going above and beyond what the game needs to be.

Overall, this game would probably break the rating scales for me. Not only did it include a great race car manager simulation with amazing precision and accuracy, but it changed my whole view on how Formula One racing worked. It included so much information on how cars work and many other useful tips that would be helpful to people who tune cars either as a hobby or perhaps as a future source of income.

Game Review 2 (written by Xeltron) Added on: 04/01/2007
Grand Prix Manager is rather good game. It has all the proper drivers, teams and circuits. It is sometimes a tad confusing, but there are help windows, so you can find your way around the game easier and not make mistakes. It can be challenging too, which is great and keeps you entertained for hours.
Winning a championship requires a lot of skill and it won't come easy. You will have to put in hours of practice and, probably, experience losing a number of time before you can take the big prize. The graphics were not too bad for the time, it was made. You can view the race, but you get a 2D view looking down on the cars and this means, it is sometimes hard to tell your cars from another one which has a very similar color. The menus are fairly easy to get around which is good.
There are 17 rounds in the championship and you will need to prepare carefully for each one. The game allows you to do all the things, the manager of a real formula one team would do as well. You can negotiate contracts with suppliers, staff for your team, sponsors and of course drivers. You can also aid in the design and engineering of your car. Grand Prix Manager puts you in total control of whatever team you may choose.
So, all in all, if you lake cars and races, you should try this one too.

The game is brilliant for enthusiast, as you must have a good understanding of how F1 racing actually works. I would advise all F1 fans to play the game to get a better understanding of how the cars work.
