NBA Jam Extreme is a game I used to play on super Nintendo and am now excited to know is available on each and every one of your computer screens. Being the sequel to the previous game produced by Acclaim (the creators of such famous games as Tony hawk pro skater and the mortal combat series) NBA Jam Extreme consists of similar principles.
The game provides the player with options of playing head to head against friends, practicing or challenging the computer to unlock new players.
There are over fifty hidden players and secret prizes that allow the players to unlock and have a great time playing with. It enhances the game-play and gives an edge to the game. NBA Jam Extreme has 3D game play and gives a realistic experience for the player. The graphics seen in this particular game have evolved from its prequel- NBA Jam. This is seen by the new players and teams chosen; players resemble their life like figures in width and height, along with the team’s new uniforms and colors.
NBA Jam Extreme has a total of twenty-nine teams and one hundred and seventy real NBA players along with team home ground. The National Basketball Association must be recognized for their allowance for
Acclaim to produce such a magnificent game not only in graphics but the great game play. Other features of NBA Jam Extreme are the playoffs, finals and all-start modes where the player is given the experience to participate in a NBA season with a particular team and lead them in whichever path they chose, may it be winning the playoffs or not.
Acclaim incorporated within the game the 'Jam Camera' which provides the player with a device that zooms-in and highlights while playing. The player controls both its characters (two to each team) and has the ability to do an EXTREME dunk! By pressing the extreme button in game play the player is capable of doing an extreme dunk with any of the one hundred and seventy players.
Overall NBA Jam Extreme is a game I cherished on super Nintendo and am very excited to be able to play it on the computer. Its modern day graphics allow the player to experience a game in a new way along with the new concepts of the 'Jam Camera'. All I can say is ten out of ten.
