RBI Baseball 2 is a baseball game that was released in 1989. The game focuses more on the simulation aspect of the game than the arcade aspect so the game also focuses on the strategy you will employ in the game and not just your skills in playing the game. The game was a collaborative work between Domark and Tengen.
When it comes to the game play the second version of the game did not really have much difference from the first RBI baseball. Even the graphics are also similar to the first game. The only major difference that the second game has over the original is the inclusion of 1989 rosters and also how you can use the new all star teams in the game. The game features twenty six Major League Baseball teams so you have a lot of choices.
The game is truly a classic baseball game that has difficult controls so it’s not the easiest thing to make a strong bat or pitch as the great players of baseball. Also the choices for the actions for pitching and batting are limited so those who love baseball arcade games may find this game too simplistic. Because the game is challenging, you really need a lot of practice to perfect your game. You can play the game alone but the game also supports up to two players.
The game features great sounds such as shouts, the crowd cheering and others which complete the fun atmosphere for the baseball game. As for the graphics, the game is colorful and fun. The graphics is dated but it does not take make the game bad. The animation is well-made so you get smooth actions from the players.
The game focuses on employing the right tactics for the game that includes when to let a particular player in and when to substitute players. Basically, you have control over who to use at what part of the game.
Those who enjoy arcade versions of baseball games may find this game too simple but I doubt they will get bored with it. It’s really a fun game for everyone.
