Game Review (written by Suzy33) Added on: 02/13/2007
I really liked this game. First of all, I really enjoyed fishing when I was in Girl Scouts, so knowing that I could fish everyday on the computer was awesome. The location where I live does not allow me to fish everyday. The weather outside is always cold and instead I could go ice fishing!
My favorite feature on this game is the kinds of fish I can catch. There are many fish I can catch, and you never know when you are going to catch the fish.
You really do need the techniques like you need in real life to be able to play, although someone who has not fished can also play.
Seeing as it is a computer game, it is not like really fishing in real life. The graphics could be a little better and the water could be more realistic.
This game is kind of like Sim Farm because it has animals, and you get money. They should have more choices for bate though. They should have worms, crackers, or any other food that could be in result of a bass fish. Also, they should have different poles as you get better. Or even better, they should have different fishing poles to choose from in the beginning, and more selection as you get better. They should also have more rewards for catching fish. They should have something like the bigger the fish, the better reward: a cool fishing pole or a lot of money. They should also have different buckets or bowls to put the fish in, where they breed and become better fish. The bigger fish they breed, the more money you get.
Overall I thought the game was good. The graphics needed to be better, and the whole game just needed a little update. Of course, the game is by SEGA, so that means it is an old game. This prevents them from updating a lot. Not having the game updated prevents them from getting as much attention or as much game play since there are so many other similar games like this one, only better.
It is a good game to practice fishing, like I said. Also, the music was interesting. I liked the weather condition feature, and how you can catch fish at different depths of the ocean. You can also play in arcade mode, if the simulation mode is not for you. I found this more fun because then I did not just have to sit there and wait.
