Shark! Hunting the Great White is an underwater adventure game that simulates the job of actual shark hunters.
There are two modes in this game, random and career. Random mode is just that, random. You get put in any number of situations and underwater environments and are expected to hunt and then kill a shark. In career mode, you start out in the shallow water with easy to kill sharks and slowly work your way up to more difficult ones. As you finish each level in career mode, more and more technology and weapons become available for you to choose from.
You do not actually earn money so you just get to pick which you would like to use from a list. You can choose weapons from spear guns that shoot poisonous darts (which you use from a distance) to bangsticks that shoot bullet type things in to the shark (and these are the more dangerous ones because you have to get close enough to the stupid shark to use it).
My obvious choice would be the spear gun because game or not, I refuse to get that close to something that would love to have me as a snack. In regards to the upgrade options when you advance from level to level, you can also get better wetsuits, bigger air tanks, and so on and so forth.
In this game, you do not just come across sharks. You will encounter many different dangerous and not so dangerous creatures.
Some are lurking in the dark waiting for you to swim by so they can snatch you down deeper with their tentacles. It has a guide that tells you the different kinds of sharks and which are dangerous and which are not, but if you have trouble determining which shark you are supposed to hunt, just look for the dumb one that is barreling after you with its mouth wide open looking for a snack. You do have a boat that you can run back to if you need air or you are injured, so don’t stray too far from it and remember where you parked it. There are treasures that you will find that can be good, but you have to find them for them to be of any help.
