UEFO Euro 96 England is a good, solid game and is still an overlooked unknown football game from Gremlin. The release of game was timed to be the same as the 1996 Euro Cup tournament that was held in England. It’s rather nostalgic in the fact that it has all the actual players and their stats from the real tournament. The bad side is that most other features of UEFO Euro 96 England are seriously outdated due to the advance of technology.
It has good points that you can still appreciate such as the training, the matches themselves and the ability to use the camera angles to your advantage and use of a radar screen to show where all the players and the ball are positioned.
UEFO Euro 96 England does have one outstanding feature that I have always found interesting and enjoy playing from time to time. You have the ability to play not only as a team but also as a single player in the game; in my opinion its fun to run and pass as a single player but it also has its drawbacks with the camera angles. You have to play differently but it is worth checking out for a different perspective of the game. Another good feature is being able to select your referee with listed attributes in friendly matches.
The interface is simple to learn, nothing complicated, and runs smoothly but to pull off any tricky or clever moves you will
need to practice a bit. Even though the game play is so outdated it still has good, smooth graphics with nice sound effects and on running play by play commentary.
No matter what UEFO Euro 96 England is still a good game for true footy fans, especially those of us who are a tad older? It is still worth a download and passing the time.
