Game Review (written by Mingle_myre2) Added on: 01/16/2008
Such an addictive game! It's really hard to find a board game that is not only fun, but that you can find a computer based version that the AI doesn't cheat too badly! The game itself is simple and easy to learn, and even without reading the included rules, just by starting blind, it takes only a few turns to get the hang of it. The AI lays everything out for you in such a way that I learned how to play the physical board game, with my own strategy and everything, just from playing against the computer.
The game itself is based on tiles, a board with bi-coloured triangular spaces, dice, and your chips. The goal is to get them all home, through rolls of the dice. The higher the number on the dice, the more spaces you get to move your chips home. With so many older computer based board games, playing against the computer is either entirely futile (the computer butchers you every time), or you smack the hurt on the hapless AI so easily every time you may as well be playing against a 3 year old child. This game has a really happy medium, and considering how much a fan I am of the board game itself now, it's awesome to find the game I learned to play Backgammon on online!
