Before you download constructor, let me tell you about my experiences with this strategy game.
I first played this quirky city building type game when it was first released all those years ago, unfortunately for me I didn’t own the game and my mate who owned it moved away a few months after so I was addicted to game I could never find. The game play is fairly simple whereas you start a constructor game in one of the few towns you can choose, with or without computer opposition and then you basically have to build up your real estate empire so to speak.
In long form, by building homes for tenants to rent or breed you more tenants or workers. Schools and hospitals to heal injured employees or schools to raise the how quickly things happen in the game by making the newborns smarter allowing you even more building types and “workers”.
The real fun begins a bit later into the game when you get such buildings as the biker HQ’s which give you bikers who can be told to go to enemy construction sites and scare their workers away.
Apartment buildings in constructor allow you to unleash a gang of hooligans into your opponents midst and just generally cheese him off, hippies and squatters all make up the arsenal you can use in this very
quirky city-sim. Mob HQ’s which allow you to do favors and ask favors of the Mob obviously and then in return the Mob gives you gangsters who can perform specific allotted tasks to cause general hell for the opponent.
Even the police in the constructor game can basically be ’purchased’ later in the gameplay and thus allowing you to ’run’ the streets with patrols and to keep the opponents gangsters and hippies, mobsters and even ghosts and clowns. Make up your weapons rack but you can never forget that the computer has the tools also so building up your own buildings defenses such as fences and storm shutters help to protect your hard earned cash and tenants, in turn making it easier to attack the computer.
You can generally wage all out war against your opposition if you can afford the costs obviously.
The simple menus, colorful characters, even crazier scenarios and easy game play make this a very rapid game to pick up and play without spending hours yelling at the screen.
All in all I believe that the constructor game would generally be enjoyed by anyone ages 13 and up or anyone who just loves a good city management sim with a twist.
