Dark Legions was a classic DOS made game for the PC that I remember enjoying as a kid even. It was in the time of War Craft (Blizzard) and as an up and coming gamer-to-be these were my two most remembered titles. The game is splendid simply put, and anyone who would say different would be doing nothing but fooling themselves into thinking they know what a good game is.
There is a perfect blend of action and strategy, and the amazing choices of monsters and playable units that one can select are nothing short of remarkable.
Wraths, Demons, Magicians, Seers, Fire Elementals; its all there in one highly re-playable game that reminds us of Archon (NES) ripped out on a massive dose of steroids! I loved this game as a kid, and I love it even today, it is still one of the top five best games I have ever played for the PC. I looked in several online stores for copies of this game, and was even willing to pay original retail price (30 bucks) for it.
I am glad you guys here host these titles to download, this is the true hot-spot for us real PC gamer junkies! This games best feature was its rather fully customizable options when it came to setting up a two-player battle,
and the maps were nothing short of epic in size, making this game tops for any strategy/fantasy lover, and heck, it even tapped into fantasy readers love for these classic monsters and men alike.
The prospect of selecting even the most mediocre of units to house your precious Orb (the win/loss objective of the game) gave this title some of the most in-depth ideals for fully customizable strategy games, but even now days, a lot of real strategy games can’t be found. My top three picks for the best strategy games ever made have, and will always be; Civilization (any really), Dark Legions, and War Craft (the first one).
In closing I would like to highly suggest this title for anyone, whether you already own it or this might be the first time you have ever played it and are just downloading it now. You will enjoy this game, believe me, my whole family of strategy gamers (me, father, grandfather, granddad, brothers) all loved it, even though one or two might have just started playing it for the first time, they’re already hooked!
