Game Review (written by Eric) Added on: 01/03/2008
In Dominus, you will play the role of the head of a Kingdom. You will receive information that enemies are out to attack your castle. You must defend your kingdom and the provinces around it with the help of four generals. These four generals can be assigned different tasks in the mission.
You have to send out armies of monsters to fight your opponents. You can either kill your enemies or you can catch them through the traps that you need to set up in the different towns in the map.
When you capture an enemy, you can interrogate the creature in the dungeon in your castle to get information that can help you with your missions. You can also use some of the captured creatures to create a mutation with your own monster to create a hero hybrid mutation.
When you set off your men to fight other forces, you can join in on the battle. Your castle is in the middle of the map so you must also make sure that you have enough armies to cover the battle ground and also to maintain the defense levels in your castle. Aside from maintaining the defense levels in your castle, you must also efficiently harvest produce in the surrounding areas in the castle so that you have enough resources to support the army and the different battles. Remember that the closer the enemies get to your castle, the stronger they become because of the resources they gain in the different provinces.
Like other fantasy strategy games, you can also use magic spells to build effective traps against the enemies. There are also other useful ways that you can use magic in the game. You can make the army search magic in the form of traps or you can go to the alchemist and use the different potions to create magic spells.
The controls are very easy to use so you won’t have difficulty playing the game. Dominus also features good graphics and sounds.
This game is a good game for those who want to play a good strategy game but not as intensive as the newer games. It’s still loaded with a lot of fun segments. Even those who are not very fond of strategy games will surely enjoy this game. It’s packed with good challenges so it’s a great game for those looking to burning several hours on a game. It’s a bit complex and challenging.
