Gene wars follows a similar layout to that of starcraft, and many others such as warcraft etc, which involves base building and creating a settlement and then having to launch an attack on your enemy. The game is set in the distant future, where four races have been warring for centuries. These four races are the humans (earthlings), the Saurians, the Bohemians and the Schnozzoids.
However, these four races have come under scrutiny by a force known as the Etherals. The Etherals act as space police, regulating behaviour across the galaxy. When they find many parts of the galaxy stripped away and planets left barren, it strikes upon those it deems guilty. It captures and imprisons all four races. However, after only a short period of being imprisoned the four races are released on a sort of good behaviour term having to restore that which they have destroyed. However, using the technology given to them by the Etherals to carry out their tasks as imposed on them by the Etherals, they soon find that they have restored one of the planets to its original state. In turn the four races continue their battle in secret using Etheral biotechnology to create weapons of destruction, however at the same time trying to hide them from the Etherals.
Although similar to its counterparts, it offers a unique twist to the characters it has to offer. Using the biotechnology mentioned, you create beasts of war to aid your cause to help eliminate the other races, but at the same time trying not to alert the peace-loving etherals.
Players get to use what are called Specialists. There are four specialists you can command: the Engineer, who builds your structures; the Geneticist, who studies new life forms so you may reproduce them, and also heals anything that lives; the Botanist gathers rare seeds and plants and the Ranger, who tends your animals, and can instruct them fight, eat or mate.
You will have hours of fun creating your settlement and training and producing animals to fight along your side so that you can crush the other side. The Graphics strongly support the game play and the sci-fi sound effects make the game that much more enjoyable and interesting for game play.

This is a great game! The graphics, the sound, everything is just great! I remember playing this game when I was younger and I'm glad, I was able to find it again. The game is similar to Command & Conquer. The main goal of the game is to move from planet to planet and accomplish tasks given to you.
The game is more like a fantasy game in reality. So, if you don’t like fantasy games then you may find this title more disappointing than great. I love this game and love RTS style games to begin with. If you like multiplayer, this game also supports it! In fact, up to 4 players can play head to head over LAN or other internet connection!
During gameplay you have to make monsters to destroy your foes. Who doesn't love that? I used to play this game for hours and hours, before I was finally fed up with it. Then, here I found it again and I'm playing it for hours and hours again! I showed this game to my friends and, as most people are, they were quite skeptical about playing an older game, but after starting, we had a blast!
I definitely suggest downloading this game. It may not be cool and new, like some of these crazy games out today. But it still satisfies the needs of a bored gamer wanting to destroy some space aliens! Download!

Is a pretty good game. The game transport you to another reality and you become part of it. Also this game gives you a possibility of learn about make a good strategy which is useful in the life of every single person. you will love this game that is for sure. The game has pretty good graphics and a good resolution images. The structures that you will find there are just incredibles, you will be in love of this game in a few minutes. The player also has a lot of game possiblities and is for sure that he will have a lot of fun with this expectacular game.
