I have recently picked up the game again after taking a break from the GBA version for a while. I have found that I enjoyed the play of the game (what you need to do in the game) more than the graphics. So although there are more features in the newer versions I would prefer that there be a newer two dimensional version with more variables to interact with in the game.
One thing that would be cool would be if you could go through the process of designing your own house and barn to a detailed level.
It would be nice if you were able to do things like determine the dimensions of the rooms and place things where you want them. Yet, it would be nice to retain the simplicity of the two dimensional world like in the GBA version. I personally enjoy that type of game better than these three dimensional worlds that are coming out. The graphics can be left three-dimensional but I liked the grid layout from the GBA version; where pushing left moved your character one unit/square to the left.
As for things about playing the game, it was fun having various tasks to perform everyday but I would also like to see more variation. Performing practically the exact same tasks everyday eventually gets
boring. There was a little amount of story line to it but events happened rarely and much of the time it was just a simple conversation (note: this is coming mainly from the Game Boy version experience than the recent versions).
One possible add on to the game could be to create your own irrigation system where you personally had to pay for every unit of irrigation supplies. This could also be variable in that you might over-water plants and kill them or alter the amount you will be able to charge for the product. Or the opposite, you don't water the plants enough and they die.
Some other interesting variables to add are insects and pests, the ability to auction off live stock, set your own prices (although this may require a little knowledge of economics to make use of this feature), and things like purchasing new electronics or gadgets that could help you perform better, be more efficient, or simply increase your character's happiness; such as buying a larger TV, gaming system, or even just things that could help to place the player in the characters shoes. This game is absolutely worth playing!
