Game Review (written by Eric) Added on: 03/12/2008
Mahjong is a tile game that originated in Asia. The computer version of the game remains truthful to the tile game as the Chinese and other Asian nations play it. Despite the game being truthful to the original Chinese tile game, the game has additional features that make it modern and even more fun.

One of the features that make the computer version better is the addition of pretty backgrounds that add texture to the game. The graphics of the game are so good so you will see beautiful tile designs not unlike the beautiful designs of the real tiles used in many Mahjong sessions in Asia.
Mahjong is a very popular table game in Asia with some of the most beautiful tiles made of ivory.

The game can be very challenging in the beginning especially if you have no idea what the game is all about. Unlike action games or strategy games where you can just figure out what’s happening as you go along, with this game you need to know what you are doing to enjoy the game. It is a game that involves matching tiles and strategically playing them. The tiles resemble dominoes but feature oriental symbols and numbers, with the more modern games bearing pictures of important and even sacred animals and objects. Overall, the game is a complex game that is a mixture between

rummy, poker, and a war strategy board game.

I suggest you read up on Mahjong to learn about the game. If you have had any experience playing Mahjong in real life then you will enjoy the digital version. Not only will it allow you to play alone, you also don’t have to worry about ending the game prematurely should you decide to suddenly do something else. Players who have experienced playing Mahjong and truly enjoyed it but can no longer find an opportunity to play it again will be pleased with this online version.

Still if you want to compete against a human opponent you can do so. This adds more fun to the game. Aside from the graphics, the game also features decent sounds and easy controls. Overall it is a well-made game that is simple and straightforward. Anyone who likes playing Mahjong will like this game.

Once you get the hang of the game you will find that it is completely addictive. People who play the real game can last one whole day on the Mahjong table just playing it. When you learn to play the game on your computer the same thing is likely to happen to you so don’t even think about playing when you don’t have a lot of time to spare. The game is highly addictive so it’s best to play this game when you have several hours to spare.
