When I first saw Metal Fatigue it seemed like it would be a simple 2-d RPG, man was I wrong. This game stunned me with its play. The 3-d view plays like any Command and Conquer, Starcraft, Warcraft, or building and troop making game. The first story of a man who has lost his two brothers had me hooked. By just the first mission I realized how fun this game would be.
There is just one question to ask. Who doesn't like giant customizable fighting robots? The broad range of robot parts is awesome.
The many selections of torsos, arms, and legs give the ability to make any specialized fighting structure. All from normal arms legs and body to power claws, pulse legs, missile bodies and more! The game-play offers the complete customization of all these parts and side accessories at your home base and on the battlefield. Damaged arm? Simply jettison the battered piece of junk off to the side and have a hover car bring you a new and improved one.
While scouring the map you may find miscellaneous parts. These pieces of technology come from a lately discovered old civilization. All forces use these parts for their own use. To take the pieces, simply have a hover car stroll over, pick
it up, and place it into your robot assembly building. Don't have the time for a hover car? Just jettison your robot's own arm and have it pick up the better one off the ground. Then you can use the new technology now, have a hover car take your old arm back for spare parts, and research the technology later; that is if you make it back alive.
Opposing teams also have these massive robots. Make the batter fighter and destroy them before they corner you! If you're lucky, you may be able to break, slice, or blast a part off your enemy to use on your own robot. So, out of three sides and one civilization, a vast amount of different robot combinations are available to you. Next to the destructive robots are ground and air support vehicles. The map supports the use of orbit, land, and under-ground battle. Jets can fly in orbit around floating land masses which can be accessed by teleportation structures and tanks, artillery, missiles and more scour the lands above and below in existing tunnels.
Through all areas, buildings and defenses can be made; just no massive robots down the service elevator. So when you’re ready to commence your mission, just have your hover car gather some supplies and create your towering giants.
