The game, Monopoly is a computerized conversion of the Monopoly board game released by the Parker Brothers years and years ago. The beginning menu starts out with the monopoly man and he lets you choose a game and select your tokens, etc.
Monopoly can be played up to a maximum of 8 players, computer or human. Each character decides on a token and that is their symbol throughout the game, marking their space on the board. The game either starts by each player rolling the dice, or youngest to oldest.
Each player starts out with 2000 dollars and you can choose the option to already own property or began buying and auctioning properties. After the usual roll, the player moves the number that they rolled, and either lands on a property, a chance, a community chest, a tax, a free parking, a just visiting jail, a go-to-jail, or GO. The properties include Railroads, Utilities and Areas for sale. If a player is able to acquire all the properties of a single group, usually denoted by colors, he is able to improve the properties by adding houses or hotels. The extra houses or hotels means that when the other player lands on their space, then they have to pay a higher fee, especially
if there is a hotel. Usually, the rents on unimproved properties are pretty modest. The cheaper the buying price for the property, the cheaper the rent.
A chance and community chest space, represents a random card being chosen, and you are given an objective, or money, or money is taken away from you. A tax area, is a space that you must pay the tax fees, whether it is 10% or 75 dollars of your money. A free parking is a space in which you may collect the tax money. Visiting jail area is where you are just visiting whoever is in jail. A go-to-jail space means that you directly report to the jail and cannot get out until you roll a double pair of dice or when you pay the fee to get out. Go, is the starting area in which we started in the beginning, and every time you pass go you earn 200 dollars. Landing on Go can earn you 400 dollars. Whenever a property is sold, the money goes straight to the bank. If wanted, than an open auction for all players may occur when a property is for sale.
These are the basics for playing monopoly. The game can conceivably continue forever, but is made to play until only one person is left with any money and has a monopoly on the game. All in all, a great classic. Worth to play.
