Now, Now, if it isn't a Tycoon game. The Railroad Tycoon games were the first if I remember correctly. In Railroad Tycoon Deluxe you get to make and break the railroad systems, to try to become the most wealthy railroad owner in the world. The graphics of this game are quite good considering the date it was published. In this the Deluxe edition of the first railroad Tycoon, you also get a few additions that were not originally in the regular release.
In order to get wealthy, you must use the funding that you start with to build your empire, or rather a go rail road system.

In order to get wealthy, you must use the funding that you start with to build your empire, or rather a go rail road system. Moreover it is better for you if you also keep the people happy on the
system. If they are un happy, they will not use your trains and so on. Therefore you need to have a good balance of penny pinching and also customer service to win the crowd, but in order to beat the competition; you need also to improve technology. You will wind up sinking tons of time and energy into figuring out how to slice and dice the portions of you time and money to optimize your railroad system.
I know that this already sounds like tons of fun, if you are into that sort of thing, but it gets more and more fun (or un-fun, depending on how you see it) as time goes on, because as you gain new building and hiring abilities, your customers begin to be bored with the old stuff. I don't know which is more frustrating, losing sales because your train systems are too old or being kicked in the teeth. Honestly I don't know how much time I have invested playing all of the Tycoon type games, but I can honestly say that I an confused as to why I spent so much time on them. I don't even really like them, but since this is a review, I will quit complaining.
The Music gets annoying, but it is worse without it, so be careful, unless you like the tunes.
Game-play is alright, but very repetitive, did I mention repetitive.
Fun Factor is really different person to person, I thought the game was ok for about an hour, then after that, it was dull and repetitive
Overall, I thought that the game was ok but it is not what I would consider a good use of my time. Not that any thing that takes up more than an hour is wasting, but come on, all those forever games.... Where is the cool ending, that's right there isn't one, it is a cheesy cinematic, or in some cases just a stupid plaque.
