Rings of Medusa
This game is one of the best ever made. It is also one of the hardest I have ever played. I started playing Rings of Medusa when I was 10 years old on my cousin’s computer. It captivated me even though I could not for the life of me ever get very far. It took me years before I could find it again and now that I have I find it a little easier than it was back then.

A little tip on how to get further in the game is DO NOT BUY ANY ARMY. Just buy horses and wagons and sell them for a profit. The reason for this is that when you get attacked you lose everything except your wagons and horses. The trick is to trade in horses and wagons until you have the sufficient money to hire a large army.
I have found you need to get up to around 1 million gold before trying to get an army. Taking the time on trading horses and wagons also allows the number of people that you can hire into your army to increase. Another thing that can be done is hire lots of scouts. Scouts allow you to see further away from you and makes it so you can avoid combat.
Rings of Medusa runs well on pretty well any operating system. As far as I am concerned Rings of Medusa is still one of the best games ever created. Way to go Starbyte Software. I will continue playing this game as long as I own a computer that will run it. Mind you I still have my old 486 that still works great for these old games ;). I am still learning more tricks to this game every day that I play.
Oh and one more thing before I go, if you plan on taking over a city make sure that you have at least 3 - 4 thousand men in your army. Towns and cities have huge standing armies. One of the only things that I do not like about this game is that you can not run from battle. Once you go into combat all you can do is win or lose. The other thing that is bad about this game is that when you go into combat you need to get your army to at least the half way point on the battle field before you even start to hurt the enemy, and the enemy is a lot faster to react than you or I.
Well to end my review of Rings of Medusa I would give this game at least a 9 or 10 out of 10. Until there is a new version of this game made I will not give up on it. Rock On and Peace all!!!!!!
