From farming, strategy, defense and such you build armies, recruit generals, and go to war. The war-mode is the classic strategy point and click deal which can be so cliché some-times with the
droning graphics and such. When the battle is over you may have captured enemy generals.
Here you have three options: recruit them, execute them or simply let them go. Some of the generals are excellent with war and such, while others are charmers and diplomats. People striving in charisma can help the farmers; while warriors will fend off bandits and hunt down criminals. Sometimes, you can gain tips and hints by speaking to the commoners’ peasants. However, the repeated phrases easy get annoying. The weather can easily topple over a war. Your generals can also talk to each other, form rivalries, become 'soul-brothers' or even get married. It's all so very clever, and every small thing affects history. Meetings come up in the palace, which gives you the opportunity to cause up-risings in other cities, spy on the enemy or go to war or make alliances with gifts of money and power. You can start from the very beginning, or step right into the war as it fully breaks out. It's completely up to you, and how you make each decision will decide your future.
Romance of the three Kingdoms 3 offers you so much freedom, so graphics put aside, you will undoubtedly have fun again and again. It's a game you'll have to come back to.
