Game Review (written by Bluecorona) Added on: 06/21/2007
Scrabble is an excellent game for people from the child learning to spell, to the elderly person, looking for new exercises to keep their brains in shape. I played it as a child with my family, and continue to play it as an adult every once in a while. Many of my childhood memories include playing board games with my family such as Scrabble. We even used to play the game in elementary and high school.
One fond memory I have of Scrabble is challenging the other players' words and searching for the word in the dictionary. If it was an actual word, the person was free to keep it on the board, but if it was not a real word, they had to take the word off of the board. In this way Scrabble can help you learn new things through expanding your vocabulary. It could also be great for kids who are just learning to spell. They could learn new words, learn the correct way to spell them and then utilize this new knowledge in school and every day life. Seniors would benefit from this game as well.
Doctors recommend for everyone, especially seniors to do some sort of exercise, whether it be reading, writing, math or word puzzles daily to keep the brain muscles in shape and keep a clear, focused memory. Scrabble could definitely be one of these exercises for the brain. If you haven't played Scrabble, where have you been? You might never learn how to spell words such as psychology and you may never learn that the word sot exists.
I, for one, being the salutatorian of my class, can say that Scrabble and other word games vastly improved my knowledge of spelling and vocabulary and became something I enjoy doing to this very day, and hope to enjoy for the rest of my life. I plan on playing this game as a family with my children in the future, as my family did with me, and I also plan on playing with my friends. What the point is that you can never be too old for board games, especially word games, which are fun for the whole family and can be very educational as well. If you don't have this game in your collection, you must go out and buy it, and if you do have this game, make it a point to play it more often. Dust it off and have some fun with your family and friends.
A classic for word game lovers.

Bluecorona (06/21/2007) Scrabble is an awesome game. I played it growing up as a kid with my family and as an adult I still play it from time to time. A classic for word game lovers. (06/21/2007) Scrabble: Deluxe edition is an okay game the graphics are heaps good, and it is a challenging game if you are playing against the computer. After playing Scrabble I have come to know new words and been able to dominate against other people when I play in real life. Also this game is good because you play against other people on the Internet and I really like it, but sometimes you don’t know if they have a dictionary with them. But nothing beats the good old scrabble that you play with mates and family. |
