Solitaire Royale is a strategy card game that came out in the mid 1980s and will test your knowledge in about thirteen different types of solitaire games. It is basically just a collection of them.
One of the solitaire games you have to know how to play is basic solitaire, also known as Klondike. In Klondike you have to clear the board by putting all the suits (spades, clubs, hearts, and diamonds) in order. You start with the ace and go in numerical order until you reach the king. The cards are dealt out in seven piles with only the top card flipped over. You then move the cards around on to the other piles (unless you can place the card on the appropriate ace when you find it) but the catch is that you have to do it in alternating colours (black, red, black, and so on) and in descending order. It is a very simple game to play and master.
Another version of solitaire that you can play in this game is called pyramid. This one is also fairly easy to master. The cards are dealt in a pyramid format and they can only be removed if the card values equal the amount of thirteen. The good thing is that the kings can automatically be removed because their value is thirteen. An example of cards you have to add up would be a ten and a three. They can only be removed in pairs and the cards can not be covered up or you can’t use them until you uncover them. You have only won the game if you have used all the cards in the pile at the bottom and the pyramid is gone.
Golf solitaire is yet another version that is available in this game pack. It is a more difficult game. The object of this game is for you to reduce the value of the cards in front of you by either swapping them for cards of lesser value or pairing them up with an equal card. I never really understood this game, so I did not bother to play it.
There are also other versions of solitaire in this pack that you can play. They are games like canfield, aunt annie’s tour (where you play eight different games in a row), corners, concentration and reno. These are only some of them and probably the harder and more frustrating of them all. I personally always just stick to the Klondike version of solitaire because it is the easiest to learn and play. Although sometimes you will find yourself losing more than winning.

Myoung23 (06/20/2008) Solitaire Royale was one of the only games that all the family enjoyed, as it consisted of card games for adults and children. One of the great features was the Aunt Anne's Tour, which gave the player an opportunity to play all the card games to give a total score. Effectively, you could challenge others to see who could get the better score. A fun game to pass the time away, and most definately an efficient way to play solitiare without having to worry about having cards everywhere. |
