Game Review 1 (written by Tororhu) Added on: 04/30/2008
This is quite a good game, I actually played an updated version of it first on the Playstation back in the early 90s called Syndicate Wars. You take control of your faction, as I recall you have two sides to choose from. You upgrade your members much in the way 'Deus Ex' lets you upgrade the main character. As you move around the city, and upgrade your members, you will be able to 'brainwash' citizens to join your squad, arm them with a couple of guns and you're well on your way to sniffing the other faction out and blasting them into another game, Theme Hospital for instance! This is a dark, brooding yet fun strategy game with many ways to dominate and take control.

Game Review 2 (written by Triggerau) Added on: 04/19/2008
Syndicate is a classic game made by an equally classic team known as Bullfrog. The game reminds me the movie 'blade runner' with Harrison ford because the game is set at a time where the cyberpunk generation rules. The game did 'borrow' the formula from such movies as 'blade runner' , 'the running man' and 'escape from New-York'. The result is awesome, Bullfrog was on a winner with this game, which spawned 'syndicate wars'.
The game itself is a brutal one, with junkies, drunks and sexual references running rampant in the game, it's all about taking control. You are a cyborg agent in charge of a group of 4 cyborg agents given a task of eradicating the opposing factions / corporations / syndicates using any means necessary. You are given a task of brainwashing civilians, scientists and other members of society which could come in handy to your syndicate, if they refuse to join, well, we all know what happens then.
The graphics are awesome, well, at least for 1992 anyway, very smooth, very dark (much like some Tim Burton movies). The controls are smooth, and very responsive, and the sound / audio is classic 1992 standard, very clear and sharp, and not too overdone.
A must have game for any old school gamer.

I played the game when I was younger and couldn't get enough of it, I liked the idea of being in control of a squad instead for all those 1st person shooters which were out at the time.

The Syndicate series, for it's time, was and is one of the most seminal games within it's genre.

Syndicate is, in my opinion, one of Bullfrog's greatest games.
