X-Com: Enemy Unknown is a very difficult turn based game. In which you have to choose where to build a bases, build facilities in the bases (Hanger, Storage, research, manufacturing, living areas etc.) conduct research to upgrade weapons, ships, medical supplies, amour etc. , manufacture goods for your troops who go out and stop the UFOs. All of which costs money, you get money by keeping the UFOs from terrorizing any place on the globe. Well not actually get. It works on more of an annual world wide funding program thing.

All of which costs money, you get money by keeping the UFOs from terrorizing any place on the globe. Well not actually get. It works on more of an annual world wide funding program thing. At the end of each year the FBI comes to you and shows you how you are doing so far and what countries are supporting you. They also give you your cash so
that you can keep fighting the alien invasion force. If you are doing poorly the countries most affected will reduce their amount of funding. If you continue to do poorly after that they stop funding you and a message pops up saying that “such and such a country is not going to fund you any more until you start protecting us better!” or something along those lines.
This part of the game is always where I did badly, because I only concentrated on aliens near me. The actual combat part of the game is really neat. Each soldier in your alien interception squad has a predetermined amount of movement points get used up when you run, duck, walk, or shoot. This part of the game is three dimensional for the most part. To see what I mean you would have to look at the screen shots or (more recommended) download this game. Well anyway, before engaging you get to arm your men with any weapons you have produced in manufacturing or with any weapons you have had left over. Once you finally get to the actual combat it is interesting because it is three dimensional and the terrain actually affects the line sight. It is very difficult but defiantly worth downloading and playing. It is complicated but in a good way. A person with more patience than me will love this game it is sooooo worth downloading.
As for the graphics as I have mentioned before it is mostly three dimensional. Now for those of you who hate old games because of old or bad graphics and bad sound often accompanied by awful gameplay (but not always!). This one has good graphics with good sound and awesome, but difficult gameplay.
Anyway, you should try it yourself.
