Game Review (written by Lindsay2) Added on: 11/27/2007
Uprising by Cyclone Studios is a strategy and simulation game all rolled up into one. It is another shoot them up war type game. It entered the gaming world as a unique strategy simulation game that takes commanding troops to the next level.
It has all you want in a war game and more. It has some of the same qualities as other games, but Uprising brings it to a whole new level. You get to command awesome troop units, you have to use resource management, and you have the fast action that you are looking for.
This game makes you figure out how to master all of these while driving around in a big bulky tank that the developers gave the name Wraith. You have to use strategy to be able to deploy your troops into strategic positions and move them in without being detected by the enemy. When you are detected by the enemy, you are in for a lot of explosive fast paced action that you will not ever forget. The whole entire time that your troops are fighting for you, you are also right in there. You get to be a part of the action. You go up and down hills, through enemy lines, just waiting for the perfect shot to kill your target, and just enjoying the adrenaline rush as if you are really there.
The enemies may be controlled by the computer, but they are still deadly if you can’t take them down. Even in the first level of the game, they give you a very hard time. They are incredibly clever and can be devilish and revengeful at times. The main goal in this game is to lead a revolution, or uprising, against the enemy, the Imperium. Their troops are very hard to beat. In order to do this, you have to capture and take over 19 planets. Along the way, you will have to defeat the Imperium army and stay alive. You not only have the Imperium army to deal with, but you have the natives as well. Some of them are not very happy about you coming to their world and taking over. For each level you pass, the difficulty level goes up as well.
Graphics and sound are good, but the vast arrays of keyboard commands are difficult to manage. They are easy to configure, but you will find yourself messing up a number of commands before you master the keyboard controls. So I highly recommend downloading it immediately! You’ll be satisfied!
