Game Review (written by Splintercelllen) Added on: 04/01/2007
War Wind II: Human Onslaught is by far one of the most entertaining games I have ever played. It has amazing graphics and it is really sweet. Its game play makes it one of the most addicting gaming experiences I have ever witnessed. You really could sit and play this game for hours on end.
The real time strategy involved in this game makes it a favorite of many people world wide. The many different missions provide a large amount of variation as far as the type of level.
Different landscapes are spread through out the game which provides a dark, easy on the eyes feel. The environments defiantly add to a sense of realism to the game.
The game did make its debut in 1997 (November 30th 1997 to be exact) but the graphics are more than compensated for by the game play. And even still the graphics are not all bad. Look at Tetris, it had terrible graphics, and is widely considered to be one of the best games ever created. So graphics are certainly not a problem, or even a factor in judging video games for that matter.
The game sucks you in from level one, you are easily entertained by the plot line which has you fighting the inhabitants of the planet Yavuan. Once this game grabs you, it doesn't let go, until its exciting conclusion. The huge plot twist at the end of the video game will shock you, just as much, if not more than the surprise ending of the first saw movie.
This game is lacking in some areas however. One option that would be a nice addition is to have the ability to challenge your friends and buddies to play the game on the internet. Multi player would have definitely been a more than welcome addition to the game. An expansion pack would be something that the fans would truly love. If this game had included multi player it might have had a better chance at standing up to other real time strategy games such as starcraft and age of empires.
In conclusion this game is definitely a fun, roller coaster ride of a single player campaign game. So many games today have such a terrible story that you have no motivation to play them. In short if you are looking for a fun single player game this game is for you.
