Game Review (written by Shannon) Added on: 04/25/2008
Mo’Slo 1.32 should, by rights, be one of the most popular offerings from this website and its affiliates. With such a wonderful bounty of classic PC games, old favorites, memories, and traditional arcade action from our youth available, many gamers find themselves downloading game after game in an effort to relive those great old plays of the glory days. There is nothing more frustrating, especially for those of us with dial up only connections, to spend three hours, and possibly several attempts, at downloading a large file, only to find that it does not run on your modern computer.
ARGGGHHHH!!
Yes, DOSBOX is a great fix for many of these games, but Mo’Slo is another utility that will help solve specific problems within older games. Sometimes, newer machines, which are created to work as quickly as the human mind can think, are simply too powerful and rapid for the older games. Mo’Slo 1.32 will help to slow down the game and make it run properly. No more trying to keep up with flying platform games that are whipping little animated characters past the screen at the speed of light.
Mo’Slo and its series (which encompasses everything from Mo’Slo Basic to both Deluxe and a 4Biz Business Edition) have been in play since the early nineties. The original Mo’Slo was created after a photographer posted a plea on a website. He needed help with his favorite pinball game, which was acting badly after being loaded onto his brand new, faster personal computer. A programmer called Doctor David answered the call and the Mo’Slo series was born. Each version, or patched version runs a little bit better or differently than the last. Mo’Slo 1.32 is about the most popular of the versions, and will usually work for most games. Users will find it as a recommended download to accompany many of the classic games available for play.
Therefore, Mo’Slo 1.32 does not come recommended as a video game for the personal computer, because it is not a game at all. However, this application or utility is still a recommended download, because without, many of the video games that DO come highly recommended will be rendered useless on the lightning fast modern PC. Some of the most notable games that will benefit from running Mo’Slo include the entire Ultima Series, and even Blizzard’s World of Warcraft. Mo’Slo will stop the Mach 1 map scroll, allowing the user to better control what he is looking at on the screen. There are many other games that will benefit from this game. It is a handy utility to have on hand BEFORE you download something that is going to frustrate you and make you launch your lap top through the window. I would suggest it.
